Prior to undertaking photography, Ms. Hiett worked in fashion design, as well as corporate marketing and graphic design. After completing a Bachelor of Science Design Degree from UC Davis, she spent two and a half years traveling and working in the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Upon her return, she spent several years working in the software biz, then returned to school to study photography. She now pursues a variety of commercial and fine art photo projects, including a photo essay on women surfers.

Pictures from the Abstracted Everyday series (see Galleries/Fine Art) are sold as prints or large images printed on canvas. Some available on cards in Barnes and Nobles stores throughout the U.S
